Are “Hollywood Star Wackers” After Randy Quaid?

Here’s one of the weirder stories of the week.  It appears that one of my favorite actors Randy Quaid (Kingpin, National Lampoon’s Vacation and Independence Day) is as wacky in person as he is on screen.

Quaid and his wife Evi were just released from jail in Canada where they were held in relation to outstanding burglary charges in the US. They are charged with doing $5000 in damage to a guest house in Santa Barbara, CA  – and then leaving before the hearing.  This is Quaid’s second criminal issue in the Santa Barbara area.  In 2009 he was charged with skipping out on a $10,000 hotel bill, and similarly missing court appearances.

In an attempt to provide some sort of weird explanation for their penchant for trashing places and skipping out on bills, Quaid’s wife explained to a judge that she fears for her husband’s safety, since two other stars, Heath Ledger and David Carradine, were “murdered”, and she is concerned that that Quaid might be next on the list of stars to be killed. (Note – neither Ledger or Carradine’s death were labeled as homicides or even considered suspicious by authorities.)

So is there a crazy serial murderer killing our stars, or is this just a nutty excuse for bad behavior?

I personally prefer the idea that there is a psycho celebrity killer. And if so – how are they picking their victims?  An A-List star that played The Joker.  The Kung Fu dude.  And now they are after Randy Quaid? What is the connection?  Hmmm….Quaid was in Brokeback Mountain with Heath Ledger, but how is that related to Carradine.  It’s like the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon – only people are getting killed! And could this all go much further than we think?  And am I the only one that found Gary Coleman’s death a little suspicious?

I saw the interview on GMA regarding the Quaids’ behavior. Randy did not look even a bit nutty. His wife seemed a little bi-polar-perhaps, or just “kooky”. I watched Randy and he was dead-serious. No pun intended. He seemed serious. I believed him. And, why is his brother, Dennis, not giving him and his wife refuge? Frankly, I believe them. Why this would be done, I have no idea, but he was serious. Thank you.

One of the very worst articles I have ever come across.

Very unconvincing, with nothing much to say by someone who hasn’t even attempted to check out the details. Just appears to want to label this couple as wacko without even considering that they might have very good reason.

Also, the author is very naive & out of touch with reality too, to think that all that happens in the entertainment business is above board and out in the open.

Personally I have more reason to believe the Quaids than this poorly written & researched nonsense.

Ah Suzanne….you mistake me for a journalist! I think you stumbled across the wrong URL. You must have thought you were at wallstreetjournal.com and not just some blog. My advice… have a glass of wine, loosen up, and search for that sense of humor I know you must keep some where in the house.
