How Not To Ship Christmas Packages

With the holidays approaching, most of us will soon be shipping gifts across the country.  Popular Mechanics Magazine did a little research to find out the safest way to ship to make sure your packages arrive intact.  They wrapped up sensors designed to detect and record rough treatment to the package, and discovered the following:

  • Do not write “Fragile”, “Handle With Care” or in any way indicate the contents are easily damaged.  Packages earmarked as fragile received the worst treatment by shippers.
  • The US Postal Service treated packages with the most care.

Of course you could do what I do, and limit your Christmas gifts to Hickory Farms sausage, which is virtually indestructable and has a shelf life of several hundred years.  Plus, nothing says Merry Christmas like spicy Kelbassa!
